Opportunities For Social Innovators In 2023

social innovators

If you are an individual or a group of social innovators then this is the opportunity for you to take up this challenge.

Re-use, Re-fill, Re-imagine – Social Innovators needed to provide solutions for small traders and family owned shops within South-Africa

Plastic is a very precious commodity. It assists Unilever in delivering their products to customers in a safe and effective manner. Despite the fact that it has a lower carbon footprint than other materials, far too much plastic ends up in our environment. According to global study, the annual flow of plastic into the ocean might triple by 2040. This must come to an end.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer, thus different options must be examined while bringing about change. This necessitates unconventional thinking and new business strategies, particularly for addressing the informal sector in South Africa, where product packaging currently focuses on small sachets with a high plastic content, but where reducing plastic waste is not a priority for the consumer base.

Hence, a call for social innovators to challenge the status-quo of plastic impacts in the environment.

Challenge Requirement

In South Africa, social innovators solutions must be acceptable for informal trade, such as spaza and duka shops, as well as small independent roadside kiosks with minimal power, data, and connectivity.
