The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) stated that, by 2015, egg production will have reached 70.4 million metric tons.

The FAO was right; China contributed to their prediction and ranked the highest in egg production at 24.8 billion kilograms of unprocessed, in-shell hen’s eggs produced yearly.

According to how China’s egg production compounded at a 2% yearly growth rate, FAO predicted that it could reach a growth of about 34.2 million metric tons of eggs per year by 2020.

Interestingly, among the countries in the world, China topped the charts for being the highest global producer as of 2020.

Five hundred ninety-six billion eggs were estimated to be produced by China in 2020.

The top egg-producing provinces in China are mostly Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Liaoning, and Jiangsu.
