According to Union Pacific Corporation and poultry producer Foster Farms said enough grain was shipped to replace feed supplies after recent train delays led inventories to fall to critical levels.
After the poultry farm warned about running out of feed for its chicks and its customers’ dairy cattle, the US Surface Transportation Board, which governs railways, ordered Union Pacific to send trains loaded with maize on December 30.
