Cocoa farmers in Ghana have urged the government and Ghana Cocoa Board to increase the price of a cocoa bag from GHS 660.00 to GHS 1500.00

The farmers, through the various cocoa associations across the country, expressed their concerns about the hardship they facing in producing the cocoa beans.
According to the farmers, inputs such as fertilizer have been a great challenge this year, and getting fertilizer from other suppliers at high-cost prices has positioned most farmers in debt.
The farmers claim they have no option but to sell their cocoa beans to foreign companies or abandon their farms if the government fails to increase the price per bag of cocoa.
