Irrigation systems
Irrigation systems provide farm crops with regulated water to ensure year-round productivity.
The Ghana Cocoa Board intends to advocate for using irrigation systems in Ghana cocoa cultivation.

How do irrigation systems work
Following the drought challenges in several key cocoa districts in Ghana, the Ghana COCOBOD has made it a point and a matter of urgency to invest in irrigating cocoa farms in Ghana. Even during the dry season, we can sustain maximum output by applying significant water to our cocoa.
Mr. Joseph Aidoo, the chief executive officer of Ghana COCOBOD, has advised cocoa farmers not to use unapproved fertilizers and pesticides on their crops. We are indeed facing a difficult time with a constant supply of fertilizer, but no matter how bad things get, do not use just any chemical on your plants, but rather turn to a safer alternative by adding organic manure from poultry farms, cow dugs, and any other biodegradable known to be rich in nutrients good for the cocoa plant.
