FAO calls for experts on green agriculture to take up a role.
Green Agriculture integrates economic, environmental, and social aspects, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals. It focuses on resource management, biodiversity, and resilient agroecosystems. It targets efficient, inclusive, and sustainable agrifood systems through innovation and knowledge sharing. This approach reduces resource strain, tackles environmental issues, combats poverty, and promotes better living. The Regional Technical Platform supports knowledge exchange among Green Agriculture experts.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, validate info, and advise on good practices and policies.
- Experts will promote the Green Agriculture concept regionally and interregional.
- Experts will establish partnerships for Green Agriculture.
- Individual capacity: Experts contribute to meetings as individuals, not representing the government or institutions.
- Experts will engage in working groups voluntarily.
Qualifications
- Advanced University degree in related natural or social sciences, including agricultural sciences, economics, politics, environmental sciences, innovation sciences, or engineering sciences.
- Minimum of five years of experience in policy-making, research and development, science policy interfaces, or stakeholder engagement within the domain of Green Agriculture.
- Proficiency in the English language is demonstrated through both written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated evidence of leadership or active involvement in national or international governing bodies, scientific organizations, committees, and expert advisory groups relevant to the focus of this role.
