European Union ministers have disclosed “How to apply new technologies for a more sustainable agriculture” amid climate change, food waste, and heat waves in a recent meeting held on 08 September 2023 in Cordoba.
The EU’s key industry players present new ideas and techniques to ensure enough quality food and sustainable agriculture.

New Genomic Techniques
During the informal meeting, several debates were raised concerning the use of Genomics techniques in the manipulation of food. Many health issues have been raised over the years due to the irresponsible use of genomics techniques in Agriculture.
European Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski, on 5 July, presented a regulation on the use of New Genomic Techniques in sustainable agriculture.
The minister guaranteed strict regulation and transparency in seed and plant production using the New Genomic Techniques without negatively affecting the environment. This emerging technology has left many wondering and in fear of safe consumption.
Another section of the informal meeting on ensuring sustainable agriculture also touched on the living conditions of farmers. The EU ministers assured flexible policies for an enabling environment to ensure they achieve their goals on sustainable agriculture.
