Amid the administrative power transition in NIger, the Governor of the landlocked country in West Africa, Niger has promised to support 30,000 farmers.
During a two-day retreat organized for Commissioners, SSAs, Local Government Council Chairmen, and House of Assembly members, Mr. Mohammed Umaru made elaborated on how the country will soon see a massive transformation in Agriculture.
The larger population of NIger is into farming. Over 85% of the citizens depend on peasant farming to survive daily.
The governor said the State Government remains resolute in improving the Agriculture sector with resources to aid farmers.
Farmers are expected to distribute farm inputs such as planting seeds, crop fertilizer, and many other agricultural incentives in the coming weeks.
