Hundreds turn out for annual Easter egg hunt on Capitol lawn

On a bright Saturday morning, hundreds of kids and families attended the annual Jaycees Easter egg hunt on the lawn of the Michigan Capitol.

Pre-hunt activities began the annual event at 10 a.m., and around 10:45 a.m., kids were let loose on the lawn to collect eggs.

Age ranges 0-3, 4-6, and 7–12 swarmed the lawn to grab some of the 10,000 eggs at the hunt as quickly as they could.

Easter egg hunts have been held in Lansing for more than 50 years by the Lansing Jaycees, or JCI Lansing.

In addition to the egg hunt, there were crafts, raffles and a fire truck for kids to play on and tour.
