As bird flu spreads, poultry will be let outside.

On Tuesday, the ministry stated poultry and captive birds can be kept outside again.

The world's largest avian flu outbreak prompted the measures. Over the last year, the UK has verified 330 instances and slaughtered 4 million birds.

"On the range, hens scratch, dust bathe, and forage for food, displaying the natural behaviors that consumers associate with free-range and organic egg production."

Scotland's chief vet ruled against a housing order, while Northern Ireland's birds remain under lockdown.
